Cebu Pacific: more flights to six Asian destinations

Low cost airline Cebu Pacific announced that it would increase flight frequencies to six Asian destianations. The current twice weekly flights from Manila to Kota Kinabalu will get an additional Wednesday frequency starting October 20, 2010.

Starting October 31, 2010, CEB will operate daily flights from Manila to Taipei. Its Cebu – Singapore flights will also become a daily service on the same day. Meanwhile, starting December 15, 2010, three more flights will be added to CEB’s Manila – Kuala Lumpur service, making it a ten times weekly frequency. The airline is also increasing flights from Manila to Jakarta (four times weekly starting December 19, 2010) and Manila to Seoul (twice daily starting January 24, 2011).


CEB is also set to launch direct Manila – Brunei flights on August 21, 2010, and Manila – Beijing flights on September 5, 2010.

Ryanair announces 13 new routes

Low cost airline Ryanair announced that it would open five new routes from Madrid and 7 new routes from Rome Ciampino. Ryanair will fly from Madrid to Ancona, Ibiza, Krakow, Oujda and Stockholm Skavsta from November 2010. Ryanair will also increase frequencies on five other routes from Madrid to Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, London Gatwick, Santiago and Tenerife from November.

Seven new routes will be opened from Rome to Bari, Fez, Gothenburg, London Gatwick, Marrakesh, Marseille and Tenerife from November 2010. Ryanair will also increase frequencies to London Stansted and Paris Beauvais.

Etihad launches all economy & service in October

Etihad Airways announced that it would introduce its first “all economy” class aircraft into its fleet in this October. The two Airbus A320s will be configured to carry 162 economy class passengers. Etihad plans to expand the “all economy” fleet to 10 aircraft in total so that the airline will be able to launch more new short haul flights which have not such demand for premium travel.

The all economy cabin aircraft destinations that have high demand for economy traffic – these are especially routes from Abu Dhabi to Alexandria, Calicut, Colombo, Damascus, Doha and Thiruvananthapuram.

Allegiant: new nonstop service from Fort Collins to Phoenix-Mesa

Low cost airline Allegiant Air announced new nonstop service from Phoenix-Mesa to Fort Collins. New service will begin October 8, 2010 and is now available from $29.99 one-way.

The new flights will be operated twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. Allegiant’s $29.99 one-way introductory fare is limited and must be purchased by September 1, 2010. It is valid for travel from October 8, 2010 until January 31, 2011. Introductory fares are not available on all flights. After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares on the route start as low as $49.99 one-way.

Emirates to launch new flights to Houston and L.A.

Emirates announced the launch of second daily flights from Dubai to Los Angeles and Houston. Starting October 31 for Los Angeles and November 1 for Houston, Emirates will fly non-stop to both cities twice a day on Boeing 777 aircraft.

Emirates currently flies nonstop to four U.S. cities: New York, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The airline will reinstate its flagship A380 aircraft on one of its double-daily JFK services from October 31.
